- Connect with Loved ones- Talk on the phone and use video chat. Making a sense of community can help ease stress.
- Create a list of personal self-care activities that you enjoy- hobbies, meditating, reading a book, etc. Alone time can help you recharge.
- Take care of your body- Meditate, take deep breaths, eat healthy meals, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep. Healthy habits can help lessen stress and anxiety, and can help you avoid turning to tobacco, alcohol, and drugs as a way to cope.
- Problem solve instead of worrying- The more you worry about the “what ifs”, the more anxious you will feel. Change how you respond to worrisome thoughts. Instead of worrying, solve the problem. TAKE ACTION!!!
- Practice good hygiene- Social distancing and other protective measures, frequent hand washing, and avoid touching your face
- Be productive- Do things you’ve been meaning to do but haven’t had the time for. Spring cleaning, find a new hobby, or learn a new skill.
